Our History
In 1959, the government decided to develop State Game Lands outside of Guys Mills, Pennsylvania. Unfortunately, this decision forced Frank Byham to sell his dairy farm. After managing two Mr. Softee ice cream trucks and working as a U.S. Postal Service carrier for five years, Frank transitioned into the insurance industry in 1963, where he remained for 50 years before retiring at the age of 85 in 2013. Throughout Frank's life, he enjoyed spending time with his family, participating in church activities, hunting, hot air ballooning, and volunteering wherever he was needed throughout Crawford County. Frank passed away in December 2022, having lived 94 happy years.
In 1978, Frank's son, Jeffrey, joined the business. Jeffrey played a key role in its growth and development, introducing new products for clients, including Medicare Advantage plans and Employee Benefits.
In 1998, Byham's Insurance Services was incorporated.
In 2016, Jeffrey's son Jacob entered the business and has contributed to the growth, management, and further development of the Medicare division within Byham's.
